i start working at safari 7 again tonight, which is kind of sad.  it pays shit, has shitty hours, and all the cool people no longer work there.  there’s a new manager who is 2 years younger than me (and not old enough to drink) and i am supposed to answer to him.  we’ll see how this goes, at least i still get to be a projectionist.  plus i’m looking forward to biking in this rainy weather before and afterwards and getting all kinds of drunk.

here’s another day of tour.

Day 2: June 2nd, St. Paul, MN (Big V’s, all ages)

i awoke from the worst sleep ever, and took a sink shower.  i was still sick, but in good spirits.  we packed up our equipment and drove to a circuit city to buy mini dv tapes for our camera, but not before stopping to take this photo

since our drive was less than two hours and the show didnt start until 10pm, we decided to get baked and go to the mall of america.  the mall sucked (big surprise) but we all bought day-long passes to camp snoopy (well now it’s nickelodeon universe or something) and went on rides for a good 3 hours.  now THAT was fun, aside from the blisters that were forming on my heels from my shoes.

after all the fun, we headed out to the venue.  i ran to a borders books to try to find a book i wanted, no luck.  on the way back i stopped in a wal mart to buy more cough medicine, and then hit up the liquor store outside the venue.  i got a cheap 40oz for about $1.88, it was barely drinkable.  we sat in the van and watched futurama on logans portable dvd player until it was time to load in.  i was feeling sick, even moreso because of that nasty 40.  we got our drink tickets and i was having a grain belt at the bar, and watching gabes beer while he was outside on the phone.  unbeknownst to me a drunkard was talking logan’s ear off at the merch table, and all of a sudden he’s right next to me, babbling and trying to steal gabes beer.  i refused and took it from him and tried to shake him off but he was being a prick.  i was sick, tired, and not in the mood so i walked away.  it was time to play anyway, and we played probably the worst set of the tour, maybe ever.  my head was elsewhere and i just couldnt hit anything.  a few people dug it though, plus Grace and her roommate Erika came out.  i fell in love with Erika the moment i heard her voice, and i couldnt take my eyes off her.  we drank and chatted and eventually left, as they offered to let us crash at their place.  i was blackout drunk by that time, and according to the others i was talking about weightlifting a lot, which if you know me, is kind of weird.

i passed out on a loveseat and enjoyed a slightly better night of sleep.
